What is the HTTP Response Inspector?

The HTTP Response Inspector sends an HTTP request to any public URL from Testomato's servers and returns the status code, response headers, and a body preview.

When to use HTTP Inspect?

• You need to see what a URL returns from outside your network
• You received an error report about a URL and want to see the raw response
• You want to confirm a URL returns the right status and headers before configuring a website monitoring check

This free tool gives you a detailed snapshot for debugging and validation. If you find yourself revisiting this page and manually re-checking the same url and headers, consider adding a monitoring check inside the Testomato app.

Testomato runs the same request on a schedule and alerts you when the response changes. You can set custom request headers on any check and monitor for specific status codes, response header values, or body content.

Technical Notes

• Default User-Agent: tools.testomato.com http-inspect (users can override via custom headers field)
• Redirects followed automatically; returns final status only
• Body preview: first 500 chars, text responses only; binary returns null
• Only public URLs — private/internal IPs are blocked
